ABOUT GOLD COAST GAY DAY

Gold Coast Gay Day is a not-for-profit event bringing together the lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual community (LGBT), their families and friends together for a day of live entertainment, positive networking and spectacular fun.

Gold Coast Gay Day (GCGD) first appeared at the Firth Park Sporting Complex, Mudgeeraba in 2007. GCGD was not held in 2008 but the success of 2007's GCGD created awareness and recognition of the event with the LGBT community, their families and friends. As a result GCGD again was held at Firth Park Sporting Complex, Mudgeeraba in 2009 successfully & now relocated to Parklands Showground, 2010 back bigger and better than ever & now already in the process of organising next years on Sunday 1st May 2011.

THE COMMITTEE

The Gold Coast Gay Day Committee is made up of members from the community and key community organisations. The GCGD Committee aims to use the knowledge, experience and evaluation of 2007's GCGD to create an event that surpasses the first while still bringing the LGBT community together in a festive and resourceful way. The GCGD committee is once again dedicated to raising funds for the Suicide Prevention Association: Care For Life. A percentage of each ticket through the gate will be donated to this vital community organisation.

THE VENUE

Parklands Show Ground is the new home to Gold Coast Gay Day. The complex allows for complete all weather operations being held within the Colin Meagher Pavillion boasting large indoor air conditioned entertainment areas, huge outdoor under cover areas, and adequate grassy surrounds for lazing and fun outdoor activities.  The venue is safe, secure and a very accessable location no matter where you are coming from. Plenty of parking for those driving & plenty of public transport for those requiring it. Should it rain on the day of the event, the complex is large enough to accommodate all stalls, entertainment and GCGD patrons inside the complex. Gold Coast Gay Day will be on rain or shine. The Parklands Complex is a licensed venue and will provide all alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and foods.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE TO REQUEST THAT YOU LEAVE ALL YOUR LOVELY PETS AT HOME ON THE DAY DUE TO PARKLANDS NO PETS ENTRY POLICY

ALSO PLEASE REMEMBER THIS EVENT IS HELD AT A FULLY LICENCED VENUE

THIS MEANS STRICTLY NO BYO

All Drinks will be available at the venues bars
